Painting a river scene in watercolor

      Painting of a River Scene

      Limit yourself

It is amazing what you can paint with just a few materials. I hope this painting encourages beginner and amateur artists to limit the materials they use as it will lead to a better understanding and use of those materials - which in turn will lead to better paintings.

      Exciting watercolor challenge

If you are a beginner or amateur watercolor artist then I have an exciting watercolor challenge for you.

I know this river scene looks very difficult but one of my watercolor students in just his second lesson of painting watercolors managed to do a good job of painting this picture - and he'd had no previous training.

So the lesson is now available online for $20.

It includes a list of materials and links so you can quickly buy all the materials you need online - not that you need that many materials when you are only using 2 brushes and 2 paints.

It also includes a warm up video to help you with some of the more challenging aspects of this painting, such as the soft atmospheric sky and those rough-edged trees.

And when it comes to painting the full picture I've laid it all out in simple, easy to do stages.

And you get the chance to show me your painting and get my feedback and then the chance to show me your second version.

Finally, if the impossible happens, and you aren't satisfied with the lesson then if you demand a refund within 30 days of paying for the lesson then you can get a full refund - this is the policy of the platform that I use which is called Teachable - so you can easily check that out by clicking on their site at teachable.com - they are a great company.

      Happy painting!
