Watercolor Painting of Reflections Upon the Surface of a Wet Road on a Rainy Day

So the rainy season continues and I am often stuck in my studio. But I am enjoying doing experiments and this year I have been influenced by all that rain.

So here is another rainy scene. I wanted to paint a stormy sky reflected upon the surface of a road.

I’m still not fully satisfied with this painting but I like it. It’s really tricky to make those soft reflections but it’s also an exciting challenge.

That’s all,

I originally wrote this in July of 2014. I am editing it in April of 2021. I am sad to say that I no longer have this painting. It appears to be another one that I threw away. I can understand why. It isn’t perfect. And yet, as I look upon it now, I can’t help thinking it was worth keeping. There is something about this image that I really like and I think that at some point I will attempt another painting of it.
